Sabudana khichadi
Prep: 180 mins
Cook: 10 mins
Yields: 4-5 people
Ingredients
01.
Wash Sabudana properly & soak it in enough water for 2-3 hrs.
02.
Meanwhile boil potatoes, peel them off & cut into equal sizes.
03.
When sabudana is soaked, drain water & keep it aside.
04.
Now take a pan or kadai & add ghee in it. Add cumin & let it crackle.
05.
Now put green chili & then add boiled & cut potatoes. Mix it properly.
06.
Add salt & tomatoes. Mix it nicely & cook on low flame with pan covered.
07.
* If you are not making it for fast then you can add regular salt also.
08.
Once tomatoes start getting soft & mushy then add soaked sabudana (sago) & red chili powder.
09.
You can skip red chili powder if you do not want it to be spicy. I have added a pinch because it gives a color to khichadi.
10.
Now cover it with lid & cook on low flame for 4-5 mins.
11.
Keep stirring at some intervals because sago sticks to the pan.
12.
After 5 mins add coriander leaves & stir it on high flame for a min or two.
13.
Your Sago khichadi is ready.
14.
If you want to add moongfali (groundnuts) then saute them with little oil or ghee & add them to the khichadi.
15.
Garnish it with coriander leaf & Serve it hot.
16.
Enjoy it as a meal or evening snack.
